Another tree posing a threat on Albertina Sisulu

Community concerned about tree.

The shocking news of a woman who died in 2013 after a tree fell on her car, made the public aware of this threat, which after the rainy season seems to be more immediate.

The Record in partnership with residents have been able to highlight and escalate the problem successfully on numerous occasions.

The latest of the giants that seems to be close to causing an accident, injury or worse can be found on Albertina Sisulu Road on the left-hand side as one travels in the direction of Roodepoort CBD from Witpoortjie.

This tree is now hanging so low over the road that it touches trucks’ roofs.

Furthermore it obscures the view of motorists. Various residents have contacted the Record to express their concern.

The Record could not reach City Parks’ spokesperson Jenny Moodley for comment but will pass on the information to this service delivery entity.
