Taxi overturns on Ontdekkers – six sustain minor injuries

Six passengers come off lightly when taxi rolls.

Six people narrowly escaped serious injury when the taxi they were travelling in overturned at the intersection of Ontdekkers and Hendrik Potgieter Roads in Roodepoort early on 5 April, according to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
ER24 paramedics arrived at the intersection to find that a taxi had rolled, injuring six of the occupants. Fortunately no one was injured seriously, says Meiring. One man had broken his arm while the rest sustained minor bumps and bruises.
Paramedics immediately stabilised some of the patients on spine board before transporting five patients to a hospital in Johannesburg.
The cause of the collision is unknown and local authorities were on scene to conduct further investigations.
