Wills believes in dedication and hardwork

ROODEPOORT - Pupil prepares for South African Championships

Maragon pupil Cameron Wills has been intrigued by acting and drama pieces since he was three years-old.

Now he is 16-years-old and has just returned from the quarter final round of the NEA Young Performers Awards for the speech and drama categories.

“I performed well at the quarter finals and I will only find out if I made it to the finals, within the next week.”

At the moment Wills is busy preparing for the SA Championships which will take place in Rustenburg at the start of April, while other pupils are busy loafing around on their holidays. He added that dedication and hard work makes the difference. “We have to act and deliver speeches in these competitions and the eisteddfods that I have been competing in, since Primary School have been preparing me for the NEA Young Performers Awards.”

Wills explained that his brother and sister also started competing in these competitions and that it has now become a family event where everyone helps each other out.

He concluded, “There is still one or two big competitions left this year but I’m busy preparing for the next World Champs later this year. I participated in last years event in Las Vegas and it prepared me for this years competition because now I know what to expect from the judges and the other finalists.”
