Florida SAPS nails young druggie

Man (22) arrested for being in possession of more than 20 packets of heroin.

A 22-year-old man was arrested by the Florida South African Police Service (SAPS) on Thursday morning 27 March for being in possession of more than 20 packets of narcotics.

According to Florida SAPS spokesperson, Captain Lydia Dikolomela, “Warrant Officers Van der Berg and Jooste were patrolling First Avenue in Florida and spotted a suspicious-looking man on the street.

“As soon as the man saw the police he started running. The officers climbed out, gave chase and eventually caught him.

“After searching him, they found in his possession a packet of dagga as well as 23 packets of heroin, known on the street as ‘bowties’.

“The suspect was charged for dealing and being in possession of drugs.”
