EduCare teaches skills with new Flower Academy

The Flower Academy will serve as a training facility and a community outreach programme.

Those who do not have the opportunity to obtain skills to start their own careers or entrepreneurships can now benefit from EduCare with their newly founded Flower Academy, Daleen Havenga explained to the Record on Monday 17 March.

EduCare challenged their name in a whole new way by opening the EduCare Flower Academy in Westgate Shopping Centre. Havenga explained that the Academy is there to provide a dedicated three-month training course to young people interested in becoming florists.

“This academy not only will serve as a training facility but will also provide services to visitors and the surrounding community of Westgate,” said Havenga.

“Our florist on hand will provide the necessary training and skills to those who wish to learn with us.

“The aim is to uplift those who currently are unemployed and develop skills among young people who otherwise will not have the chance to further their education.

“The preferred target market is those who never had the opportunity to study further and improve their situations.”

The Flower Academy can be found on the lower level of Westgate Shopping Centre at Entrance 5. For more information, contact Daleen on 078 369 7951 or Aletta on 071 744 9441.

Westgate Park — EduCare challenged their name in a whole new way by opening the EduCare Flower Academy in Westgate Shopping Centre, as Daleen Havenga put it in a recent press release.

The foundation, which by own definition promotes education, was proud to announce the opening of the Flower Academy at Westgate Shopping Centre to the Record on Monday 17 March.

“This academy not only will serve as a training facility but also will provide services to visitors to it and the surrounding community of Westgate,” said Havenga.

Havenga explained that the Academy is there to provide a dedicated three-month training course to young people interested in becoming florists.

“Our florist on hand will provide the necessary training and skills to those who wish to learn with us.”

The Academy will provide flower arrangements for all occasions, she said, and also will go the extra mile in delivering these arrangements to the catchment area of Westgate Shopping Centre.

“Flowers can be bought from us directly.

“With the knowledge that these young people will obtain, they’ll be able to provide these services for venues and functions.”

A proud Havenga announced that floral workshops also will be hosted every second Saturday of the month for others to obtain such skills.

“Our aim is to uplift those who currently are unemployed and develop skills among young people who otherwise will not have the chance to further their education.

“Our target market is those who never had the opportunity to study further and improve their situations.”
