Six drug successes in Roodepoort

Stop and search operations delivered six suspects to the Roodepoort Police Station.

Stop-and-search operations around the policing precinct in Roodepoort resulted in six successes for the Roodepoort police to date, spokesperson Nonhlanhla Khumalo told the Record on Wednesday 13 March.

Police were performing their duties in Witpoortjie, which they refer to as Sector 1, when they came across two suspicious males. A thorough search revealed that the two suspects were in possession of dagga. In Horison (Sector 2) police continued their duties where they stopped and searched another two male suspects, who also had dagga in their possession. A further two suspects were searched in Vlakfontein (Sector 4), revealing that they were in possession of heroin and that one of the suspects was dealing in dagga.

“The suspects all were taken to the Roodepoort Police Station where cases were opened for possession of drugs, and one for dealing in drugs,” Khumalo confirmed.

The suspects appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 13 March.
