Sooffah Comedy: Election Edition

Don't miss the election edition of the next Sooffah Comedy Couch show on 21 March.

The Roodepoort Theatre presents a special show by Sooffah Comedy Couch, comedian Nadiem Solomon’s invention, titled the Election Edition.

As Solomon himself explains, “the general elections are upon us”. He told the Record that the political campaigns are heating up and the rhetoric “is flying around like chickens in a hurricane”.

To make sense of it all, Solomon and Sooffah Comedy Couch comedians present their own election manifesto on 21 Friday March.

“It will be unlike anything you’ve ever seen or heard before – we’ll bring you valuable advice on the dos and don’ts of voting in the upcoming elections.”

With comedians not being bound by the electoral code, Solomon said that they will be taking on all the political parties, highlighting the flaws in the different campaigns “using logic that only comedians can come up with”.

He guarantees that residents will be laughing until election day in May.

Unlike previous Sooffah shows that were held in the Basement Theatre at the Roodepoort Theatre, this special edition will take place in the new Stages restaurant upstairs. Nevolan Reddy, Roodepoort Theatre public relations officer, promises great specials on drinks and food.

Residents should look forward to a line-up of George Kuda, Aljoy Chik & Alson, Dave Stopforth and Tania (a dance act) as well as the ever-enthusiastic host Nadiem Solomon. Tickets cost R85 per person and are available from the host.
