Honeydew accident leaves three critical

An accident in Honeydew left three people with serious injuries, with one being airlifted to hospital.

A collision on Peter Road in Honeydew on Saturday 1 March resulted in serious injuries, according to Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann.

The collision occurred between 11am and 12 noon on Saturday. Steinmann explained that paramedics found that two vehicles had collided, one being a light delivery vehicle. Three people sustained serious injuries and Netcare 911 paramedics tended to two from the one vehicle – a mother and her young daughter (11).

“A Netcare 911 helicopter was dispatched to the scene of the accident and transported the mother to a nearby medical facility for further medical attention.”

Steinmann could not confirm where the mother was hospitalised.

The daughter was rushed to a nearby medical facility by ambulance for further care, she explained.

“Exact details as to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.”

The patient from the light delivery vehicle reportedly was tended to by ER24, but this could not be confirmed yet.
