Local block watch ensures lower crime

Honey Hills Block Watch reveals low crime rates in their patrol areas.

Honey Hills Block Watch’s public relations officer Margaret Roodt confirmed the outcome of the group’s February meeting with the Record on Monday 3 March.

In his absence Donald Nieuhaus’ crime stats were shared by the Community Police Forum’s (CPF’s) Leon Vieira. The stats reflect that the Helderkruin area experienced 23 incidents of crime, Horison had 19, Ontdekkers Park had three and Honey Hills only two. These stats reflect the period since the January meeting.

Vieira also reminded the group that the next CPF meeting was to be held at the Roodepoort Police Station on 20 February.

“Together we can fight crime and succeed,” was Roodt’s positive response to the latest crime statistics for the area.
