The Florida Toastmasters Club is very excited to be working closely with the Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Rocci) in March.
This follows an announcement at the meeting on Tuesday 18 February that the Club will deliver a presentation titled Good business demands good communication at a Rocci workshop. On Thursday 13 March, small business owners and residents alike can join them at the Roodepoort Civic Centre for this presentation.
At the meeting Toastmaster Dick Hallet gave excellent advice on how to characterise achievable goals. He demonstrated his tips through the acronym Smart, which stands for creating goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely.
“It helps one to set tangible milestones and increase one’s momentum,” he boasted about the acronym.
More excellent speeches qualified two Toastmasters as Competent Communicators and a small session on effective evaluation helped their fellow members to understand that constructive criticism is key.
