ANC breaks silence over march and Councillor

ANC points finger at DA

The Record spoke to Ward 70 ANC Branch Executive Committee (BEC) member Rupert September in the aftermath of the failed DA march and Councillor Dave Dewes’ attack on their party.

“The truth about the DA is simply this: they came to the ANC’s head office to demand the so-called 6 million real jobs. There was no memorandum presented, they did the same thing when they marched to Cosatu House and was met with violence where their members were hurt. Let’s look at who their members are, who the DA called on to protest on their behalf,” asks a livid September.

“It is always the poor black communities that are the masses, yet the DA’s constituency consist of more whites than blacks. They lie about 6 million real jobs. They want us to change the labour policy, stating that we have stringent labour laws that slow down the economy of the country. They say the workers get too much protection. Their constituency should ask themselves the question, who is the DA really protecting?” Rupert says sceptically.

“The workers or the rich white businesses that sponsors and supports the DA? The councillor remarks that ‘the ANC blatantly and openly provoked and incited violence’ but it was them who insisted to come and march against us knowing what happened to them at Cosatu House. This kind of open disrespect for other political parties’ manifests is bad leadership from madam Zille and her party risking the lives of the poor and unemployed for her own agenda. Look at the photo of the councillor with a shower head over him, clearly showing no respect for the president of our country, an example of their petty and personal politics and white supremacy attitudes. Let me quote your councillor [Dave Dewes] and what he thinks of coloured people: ‘coloured people are more racist than whites and will never vote for the ANC’.
