GDE to promote responsible internet usage

Responsible usage of internet by pupils a top priority.

The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) is on a mission to promote safer and more responsible use of the internet among pupils.

According to GDE spokesperson, Phumla Sekhonyane, “Gauteng MEC for Education, Barbara Creecy on Tuesday 11 February will give a keynote address at the launch of the Back to School Campaign and Celebrate Safer Internet Day (SID) hosted by the Film and Publications Board and Google South Africa.

“The Back to School Campaign is on the day the world will be observing Safer Internet Day, which seeks to promote safer and more responsible use of online technologies, including mobile internet among young users.”
