On Saturday 8 February dads and daughters spent the morning together at a picnic function at the King’s School West Rand.
According to teacher Surita Burger, the picnic is an event that the school holds each term with the aim of strengthening relationships between daughters and fathers.
“It’s a very relaxed set up, nothing formal or hectic but a lot of fathers get to know that they are their daughter’s heroes on this day,” Burger explained.
The school encouraged fathers to buy gifts for their daughters, symbolic of a new journey at the school.
Father Morne Dos Ramos said he always looks forward to the daddy-daughter picnics at the school. “I love this day because it’s all about me and my daughter, it’s always a special occasion for us.”
