OPNION: A healthy fix for coffee lovers

JOBURG - Known on the market as ‘Bullet Proof Coffee,’ this recipe is used by world champion athletes and some of the world’s top executives, because it has a massive impact on cognitive function.

Research suggests long- term consumption of what has become known as ‘Bullet Proof Coffee’ can lower your risk of type-2 diabetes by increasing insulin sensitivity and improving cell functioning. Men who drink this coffee have up to a 60% lower risk of dying from prostate cancer. Women are less likely to suffer memory loss, breast cancer, depression or a stroke.

It is best known for its effect on weight-loss and its ability to increase performance. It is a rich source of polyphenols which increases the body’s metabolic rate, stimulates movement and increases fat mobilisation and oxidation – promoting fat loss. Caffeine is an ergogenic aid, meaning it increases power output therefore improving your physical performance and energy levels.

Ingredients

1. Two tablespoons of pasteurised or unsalted grass-fed butter (this will provide you with all the healthy milk fats and the creamiest taste).

2. Two tablespoons of MCT oil or coconut oil

3. Two cups hot coffee brewed with low-toxin beans or Upgraded Coffee

Method

1. Start by brewing your coffee as normal.

2. Add the brewed coffee, butter, and coconut/MCT oil into your blender until a thick layer of foam appears on top, like a latte.

3. If you want to add some sweetness add cinnamon/ vanilla/dark chocolate or a sweetener like Stevia, Erythritol, or Xylitol

Keep in mind – One cup of this coffee is probably about ten times healthier than your current breakfast and it has the calories to match. Bear in mind if your body is not accustomed to digeting healthy fats, this coffee may be a little rough on your stomach – so take it easy in the first week or two.

One cup a day is good.

Two cups a day is okay.

Three cups a day is the maximum!

Enjoy!
