Revamped Roodepoort Theatre beckons residents

The Roodepoort Theatre is being relaunched with a community open day on Saturday 8 February.

On Friday 7 and Saturday 8 February the Roodepoort Theatre (previously the Johannesburg ProMusica Theatre) will be relaunched, marketing officer Nevolan Reddy told the Record.

“The [Roodepoort] Theatre is positioning itself to serve the greater community and this will be clearly visible in its new, trendy logo that has been designed to exude both the arts and the community.

Although Friday night’s event is by invitation only, Reddy says that the theatre is staying true to its mission and vision, and is organising an open day for the greater Johannesburg community on Saturday 8 February.

According to the press release the open day will showcase a number of community acts, including comedians, bands and dancers, to ensure fun for the whole family. A beer tent will be made available. There will be face painters and a jumping castle to entertain the children.

“While waiting for your children, why not treat yourself to a meal at our brand new Roodepoort Stages restaurant?” Reddy appeals to residents.

“Enjoy a hearty meal at an affordable price.”
