Goodbye Ruimsig, hello Pretoria

RUIMSIG - Maragon pupil shares his experience in preparing for matric exams.

Brenton Lotz is one of Maragon Private Schools top three achievers and said he is looking forward to a new chapter in his life, being a university student. He will study medicine at the University of Pretoria.

Lotz received distinctions in Accounting, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Mathematics paper three, Science, English, and Afrikaans and attributes his achievement to proper planning. “Right from the beginning of the year I started preparing myself by doing summaries, I didn’t cram work,” he explained.

He said his results were what he aimed and hoped for. “I’m not surprised by my achievements, this was exactly my goal and I’m glad that I chieved it.”

But the journey was not easy and Lotz sacrificed a lot, like his favourite sport. “I disciplined myself and because I knew what I wanted it didn’t bother me much that I stopped swimming.” He will miss his teachers, class mates and he will treasure the memories of his schooling days.
