“Your bill is paid.” These were the words an elderly Wilgeheuwel couple received when they asked for their bill after enjoying a meal at Spur restaurant at Clearwater Mall.
Maud Schlemmer (82) and her husband went to the restaurant for breakfast during the last week of December. “It was either on 27 or 28 December,” Maud said. They called their waiter over to request the bill and were informed their bill was paid, and the person who paid was no longer at the restaurant.
Maud expressed her and her husband’s gratitude to this stranger, particularly during the current economic slump. “I really appreciate what that person did for us.” The couple are desperate to know who this wonderful Samaritan is.
