Tribute show kicks off

First night of Tina and Rod Vegas tribute show leaves audience asking for more.

The Tina and Rod Vegas Tribute Show has landed directly from Las Vegas at Silverstar.

The two impersonators, Cookie Watkins as Tina Turner and Rob Caudill as Rod Stewart wowed the audience with their performances when they sang some of the artists’ greatest hits.

Watkins mesmerised the crowd with her great dance moves and also challenged a few men from the audience to dance with her.

One audience member, Ouma Gwili said she loved the chemistry that the duo shared on stage. “They complement each other well, Rod is a great singer while Tina is a great performer and that is a nice combination,” she said.

Another audience member, Leonette Lourens said attending this show seemed like having the real Turner and Stewart at Silverstar. “They sing so well and their performance was really good. I think even if the real Tina Turner was to see this she would be very happy.”

Performances are scheduled to run until 31 December with shows starting at 8pm, and matinee performances at 3pm on Sundays.
