Roodepoort SPCA spruced up

A funky new mural gets the SPCA staff excited about new possibilities.

The Roodepoort SPCA in Nadine Street, Maraisburg, might look a bit different next time you visit the premises.

The premises has been spruced up by dynamic duo Juliet and Tanner White of Two by Two Art Studio during November. A full mural of a cat with large, green eyes was done on one of the walls one passes on the way to the reception office.

Inspector Emma Oosthuizen was more than happy to pose for a photograph at the mural.

“They worked over a weekend for a few hours every day until the mural was completed.

“The offer took us completely by surprise but we are very thankful for the enhanced image of the premises,” a proud Oosthuizen told the Record.

She explained that the Roodepoort branch is in dire need of food for the animals during the Festive Season, specifically puppy and kitten food.

“We welcome any and all donations.”

Furthermore she reminds residents of the emergency line (for after-hours use) that is strictly for sick and injured strays.

“It is not a line for private veterinary emergencies.”

The hospital hours are from 8am to 10am and 2pm to 4pm on weekdays, she explained, “but is due to change soon”.

Oosthuizen says the public is welcome to check their facebook page for regular updates on their activities as an organisation.

Residents can contact the Roodepoort SPCA at the office on 011 672 0448 for further information.
