Video aims to discredit party, says DA

Fake DA video has public and party hot under the collar.

A fake DA video, complete with the party’s logo, has been posted on a facebook page.

The video, which is just short of seven minutes, has both a male and female (assumedly white) “apologising” to other races in South Africa for being better than them. While the racially offensive rant goes on, footage of the country’s ‘decay’ since 1994 is shown. Statistics on issues such as farm murders and hijackings also are flashed on the screen.

The video starts with the DA logo and the words “the DA says” and ends with the party’s logo and the words “we told the garden boy to mow the lawn, took our kids to a wonderful public school, and then if we weren’t too tired, we fought against apartheid”.

The DA strongly distanced themselves from the video and asked facebook to remove it.

“This video must have cost a substantial amount of money to produce, and is likely to have been funded by an (opponent) organisation of some sort,” Social Media Manager for the party, Alex Malteno told the Record.
