Young man knocked off his bicycle, dies

ER24 paramedics do all they can to save injured man.

A young man died due to the severe injuries that he sustained after he was knocked off his bicycle on Chert street in Fleurhof on Wednesday evening, 13 November.

ER24 paramedics arrived on scene to find the local provincial services performing CPR on the badly injured man. It appeared that due to the impact, he had sustained severe injuries to his head and face. Paramedics continued to perform CPR on the patient and the Advanced Life Support took over care.

Sadly despite all efforts by paramedics, the man’s condition did not improve and he was declared dead on scene.

The driver of the white Opel Astra that collided into the man on his bicycle, was not injured. Local JMPD officers attended the scene and will perform the necessary investigations.

  1. There have been far too many deaths on our roads these past few weeks. In think we need to see more speed bumpson our roads, as people just won’t keep to the speed limiten

  2. Why don’t we have sidelines along the roads for bicycles as we have for pedestrians.

    Also I think that people should go though the rules of the road more often to prevent these accidents or any accidents for that matter.

  3. Our roads have become notorious regular killers and people should exercise caution when out and about. We would love to have safer streets on which we can enjoy regular rides but in the absence of these, we should be extra cautious- both driver and pedestrians.
