Participate in problem property by-law

Public to use opportunity.

The public will be given ample opportunity to participate in the drafting of a new by-law dealing with ‘problem’ properties.

Amongst others, this by-law hopes to deal with issues ranging from hijacked buildings, neglected properties and properties not used for the purpose it was zoned for. At this stage it is still a draft by-law and residents are encouraged to participate in this process in one of three ways:

A public meeting will be held on for regions B and C on 16 November at the Civic Centre on Christiaan de Wet Road at 10am. Alternatively submissions can be faxed to 011 403 6808.

Submissions can also be emailed to LouisaR@joburg.org.za

At the time of going to press this date is correct, but is subject to change. It is advisable to confirm via email the day before whether the meeting will still go ahead. Dates can also be confirmed on 011 407 7408.

The draft by law can be viewed online at: http?://tinyurl?.?com/nbxdlwx , or be obtained by phoning above number.
