Youth Riots: A fragile truce

City Power officials to meet with rioters amidst more violence.

The Record once again was subjected to minor violent incidents on day two of the deadlocked riot against City Power in Tshepisong.

The unrest that continued throughout the night flared up in the morning with motorists being stoned.

When the Record arrived at 9am, police in riot gear was stationed at all entrances and nyalas were patrolling Leratong Village, occasionally firing rubber bullets at protesters.

The Record had to take cover twice.

Eventually it was agreed that one of the nyalas would fetch City Power officials to discuss a solution for a truce. Not long afterwards one of the protesters allegedly was shot in the leg.
