Fear, money and satisfaction on market day

Ghost House wins Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

From a scary ghost house to delicious chicken sosaties and sparkly earrings, Grade 7 pupils from Horizon View Primary School did a good job and had much to offer during the school’s market day on Friday 4 October.

Karen Stradling from the school says, “There were more than 60 stalls featuring five categories: food, sweets and cold drinks, commercial, games and arts and crafts, which provided pupils with a wide variety of baked goods, sweets, delicious foods and fun games.

“The day was enjoyed thoroughly by aspiring business men and women and their happy customers”.

Guest judges were Didi Kolane (HdI Youth Marketers) and Kim De Sousa (Kimalyn Stationers), and they were joined by educator judges Mrs Manson, Miss Nzama and Mr Louw.

The judges admitted that it was a difficult task to choose the winning stalls, however, three stood out.

Entrepreneur of the Year was awarded to The House of Fear (ghost house), Most Attractive Stall went to Sticky Too’s and Sales Person of the Year went to Lucky You.

The school would like to thank West Ridge High School and Princess Primary for their assistance, as well as Kimalyn Stationers, Old Mutual and Vanessa Naicker (KFC) for their generous donations.
