HIis parents are both runners but Trinityhouse pupil Jaeden Nunes has found his niche in swimming.

And one day he would like to swim at the same level as his heroes, Olympic medalists Cameron van der Burgh and Chad le Clos.

Nunes (9) is in Grade 3 and has achieved first place at various Central Gauteng Aquatics (CGA) galas this year.

At his most recent CGA gala he swam his way to first place in the 50 and 75 metre breaststroke. He came second in the freestyle.

Prior to this he took part in another CGA gala and came first in both the 50 metre and 100 metre breaststroke.

Due to his recent victories he has risen from a level 0 swimmer to a level 1 swimmer.

With a budding swimming career ahead of him, he dreams of breaking Cameron van der Burgh’s record of 27,18 seconds in the 50 metre breaststroke.

And with his dedication and hunger for excellence, he might just succeed.
