The sign on the corner of Hendrik Potgieter Road and 14th Avenue is now visible to all motorists again.

This follows Ward 89 councillor Ingrid Reinten’s visit, along with the Roodepoort Northsider, to this sign which is situated across from Constantia Office Park. It fell down eight months ago and until now Reinten had struggled to get the board at the correct height for travelling motorists. Initially after it fell, the sign was propped up against the poles. Then it was affixed to the poles but at such a height that it touched the ground. The sign was fixed just a few days after the Northsider published the story. According to Reinten, the provincial department is responsible for this road. “They are also cutting the grass on Gordon Road now. It is such a pity they respond to the media, but they cannot plan to do it regularly,” she said

Uncut grass, another broken sign, discarded bricks and a broken lamppost are still problems on this street corner.

Acting regional manager for Public Roads and Transport in Krugersdorp Dikkie Beukes said this particular street corner falls under Krugersdorp and they would investigate the matter further.
