Joburg Water quickly responds to burst pipe

Thousands of litres water saved.

Cynical might come to mind but one can not help but question the Council’s sudden burst of energy in the run up to next year’s election with potholes being fixed and roads being tarred everywhere you look.

Credit where credit is due though and great was the Record’s surprise on 20 August when two of its own reported a serious burst pipe on the corner of Gregor Street and Generaal Pienaar Avenue at just after 12 noon.

When the Record arrived to investigate at 1pm there was a five man team plus two vehicles already attending to the problem which must have taken place in a record time. According to the team leader there were no other reasons for the pipe bursting except being faulty.

Hopefully the little bit of momentum that Council is now gaining with ‘service delivery to appease the voting cattle’ will snowball and carry on until after all the election games are over.
