Roads Agency active in Roodepoort

JRA employees were spotted "fixing the streets of Witpoortjie".

Out on the streets, Record journalists came across JRA employees working in Witpoortjie at 12 noon on Tuesday 13 August.

JRA’s Matodzi Matidza explained their work on the corner of Dromedaris and Setlaar Streets.

“We are doing our job in fixing Witpoortjie Roads.

“Today, we are on Dromedaris street to work on the paving and install manhole covers,” Matidza explained, pointing to the paving in front of the corner house.

“This is being done to ensure that residents will not complain about flooding on this street.”

Matidza said that “caps [sic]” need to be installed for water to not spill over on the sidewalk.

The JRA employees were also fixing the sidewalk for easier access to cars travelling into the yard.

Previously, the Record reported on the JRA re-paving Steinmann Street in Breaunanda.

JRA spokespersons were not available for comment on further Roodepoort projects.
