“Police in Florida, Roodepoort are appealing to victims of the accident on William Nicol Road where 29 vehicles were involved and four people died.

“A culpable homicide will be speedily and successfully investigated if all victims and witnesses come forward with their reports.”

Dlamini says that on the day, in the chaos, “several names without any addresses or vehicle particulars were recorded – and they cannot be traced”.

According to Dlamini’s statement, the accident is recorded to have happened because “a Nissan truck lost control and 29 vehicles were affected.

“It is believed that several people sustained injuries including minor injuries – but they never came forward for the purpose of the investigation.

“Once the investigation and several medical reports (blood) have been obtained, a case docket will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for a decision [sic].”

Dlamini urges victims and witnesses to contact the investigative officer, detective Warrant Officer Edward Mbambala on 082 721 9118 or on 011 991 7500. He says that the lines are open at all hours.
