Reckless driver crashes through bedroom
Radiokop resident Lynn Maartens had a rude awaking when a car crashed through her house at midnight.
Hearing a noise outside her bedroom in the early morning hours of 17 July, the last thing she expected to find was a car parked in between the bricks of what used to be a wall – five meters from her bed.
“At first I couldn’t believe what my eyes just saw and then the frightening possibilities of what could have happened occurred to me,” said Maartens.
“I have small children, they could have been badly injured.”
Maartens felt that she was lucky to escape the possible horror that could have occurred. She appealed to reckless drivers to keep in mind that an accident happens in split seconds.
“You can take a person’s life,” she added.
According to sources, the driver also survived the crash. Maartens is currently working with the complex’s landlord to establish safety measures to any prevent future accidents.
