Despite the bleak winter morning members of the community kept on streaming into the hall with its birthday decorations and the green, black and gold colours of the ANC. Of course there were snacks and a sumptuous cake in the shape of the number 95.

Ouma Betty who was born in the Northern Cape said she thanked God for a long life and when the Record asked which day was the best day of her life, she positively replied that every day was. Of course she is also a big admirer of the man she shares her special day with.
