Christmas is a time for giving and this was evident during Gateway Society’s end of the year party.
The morning was opened by some of the pupils and residents from the society who held a small concert for their fellow residents and family members. The first song they performed to was All about that Bass by Meghan Trainor followed by a song of The Beach Boys and the crowd jumped to their feet when the dancers started to dance to one of Michael Jackson’s songs, Thriller.
Fundraising manager at the society Chanelle Bekker said that the evening was organised to thank the residents, pupils and their families for their hard work and support.
“The biggest surprise happened when Santa entered the room with a gift for each resident and pupil. You could see the surprise and excitement on their faces.
“The morning was a small thank you from us to them and their families,” concluded Bekker.
