Ladies Day at Honeydey Bowling Club

The Honeydew Bowling Club's Ladies Day tournament title was a hotly contested affair.

Honeydew Bowling Club ended their Women’s Month activities on a high note with their annual Ladies Day tournament on August 22.

Teams from bowling clubs throughout the province participated and the bowling lawns were packed to capacity on the day.

According to Orla Guilfoyle from the Honeydew Bowling Club, the women put their best foot forward on the day, and bowls of a very high standard were played.

“We played mixed teams, meaning that ladies from different clubs banded together to form teams on the day. The weather was wonderful and everyone made the best of it,” she says.

“After an excitement-filled morning of bowls, the ladies retired to the clubhouse for a scrumptious meal and the prizegiving.”

Monica Landman, Louise Olivier, Liz Lazenby, and Charmain Strauss took top honours, followed by Mabs Rees, Carol Rudman, Heather Whitehorn and Suzanne Erasmus.

Third-place winners were Nadine Pottow, Amanda Jooste, Trudie Sauer and Amanda du Preez.
