A Catholic school that is caring and family-friendly

St John the Baptist Catholic School is a diverse and affordable school for families who want the best for their children.

Discipline, friendliness and care are evident at St John the Baptist Catholic School the minute you walk in. Their classrooms and learning environment are more than just a physical space – they leave learners feeling a true reflection of their values and are committed to nurturing every child.

As a strictly Catholic school, the learners participate in weekly mass and religion classes, and they are encouraged to live out their faith in their everyday lives, and this year about 23 learners made their First Holy Communion.

According to acting principal Debbie Poverello, their dress code and behaviour reflect their values of respect, discipline and modesty, and they believe that by embracing these values in the learners, they develop a strong character which guides them throughout their lives.

“We believe that education is a partnership between home and school, and that’s what makes us unique. We create a warm and welcoming environment that makes every family feel valued and supported. Our school fees are affordable and we are committed to providing quality education to all learners,” she said.

The school also has parent days once a term where they allow parents to come and interact with the learners and teachers and this is to ensure that parents know exactly what is going on with their children in school.

“We are not like ordinary schools. We believe that every child is special, and we will always show up for our learners to the best of our ability. Our learners are polite and calm, and we teach them these values that they can use in society.”

Having started only in 1996, the school has maintained a 100% pass rate throughout these years, even during the tough times of Covid-19, and they have produced good-quality students who are doing exceptionally well for themselves out in the world.

They are also committed to staying at the forefront of educational innovation, and they are excited to say they are looking into introducing coding and robotics to their curriculum next year, to give their learners the skills to succeed in this rapidly changing world.
