Siblings shine at championships

Dynamic duo takes the Kata Championship by storm achieving their first Dan black belts.

Amel and Amiel Maistry, two talented martial arts students from Charter College International High School, recently competed in the prestigious OGKK Gauteng Kata Championships.

The siblings participated in both individual and unison events, impressing judges with their skills in demos and other disciplines.

Their hard work and dedication paid off, as they both received silver medals across all events. The dynamic duo received their Okinawan and South African first Dan black belt, marking their spot in the journey to becoming the best they can be.

Palm Court Karate sensei Mario Sequeira expressed his warmest congratulations to the two students on their achievement.

“Their success is a great example of the talent and determination that exists at our centre, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth and success,” Mario said.
