President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the 2024 general elections will be held on 29 May.
This opportunity grants every South African citizen who registered to vote the power to own his/ her own vote and choose to vote for his/ her preferred political party. South African citizens have a chance to place individuals who will represent and be their voice in portfolios or departments of preference.
The Roodepoort Northsider visited Nova Pioneer Primary School and asked Grade Ones the question, “What would you do if you were the president of the country?”
Here are their responses:
• Buhlebenkosi Zuma: “I would protect my country and keep the world safe.”
• Tyler Theaver: “I would save the world, buy a mansion and invite everybody in the world.”
• Melokuhle Nkosi: “I would give my people a holiday to spend with their families.”
• Zara Singh: “I would buy everyone sweets, and protect them.”
• Mayamiko Jambwa: “I would make everyone equal and hope everyone will like it.”
• Blayne McDonald: “I would make sure that my country enjoys everything.”
• Songamele Nkosi: “I would help poor people and give them food and help them with other things.”
