Kwena Square donates to local charity

Kwena Square held a charity drive during January and February in aid of the local charity Tehillah, Hands of Abba.

There is a proverb that says charity begins at home, and Kwena Square considers it an honour to give back to their family – the community they serve.

On March 6, the organisation Tehillah, Hands of Abba, were the recipient of the local shopping centre’s charitable drive.

Kwena Square marketing manager Holly Nemathithi explains that the centre held a stationery drive among its tenants during January and February, and managed to collect donations from Bidvest Waltons and Decathlon, in aid of the charity organisation.

“As a local shopping centre, we are in, and part of the community, and it is our privilege to be able to give back.”

Tehillah, Hands of Abba representative Adele Dickinson says the charity is involved in many projects.

“We support local old age homes and rural communities with food drives, and we support underprivileged preschools with donations of food and stationery,” says Adele.

“This generous donation will go a long way to supporting our various recipients.”

The donation consisted of 300 books, 60 pens and pencils from Bidvest Waltons, and 27 pairs of shoes from Decathlon.
