Out and about at Deck and Dam
The Deck and Dam at Sunset was the venue for a charity fundraiser for 3-year-old leukemia sufferer, Zante Welman.
The Deck and Dam at Sunset in Muldersdrift was the scene for a lively day on February 11, with live music, good food, and loads of fun and entertainment for the young ones.
It was also the venue for a charity fundraiser for the treatment of a three-year-old local leukemia patient, Zante Welman, undertaken by the One for All Motorcycle Club (MCC) and the West Rand Biker Church. According to All for One MCC president, Willie Fourie, several local motorcycle clubs were in attendance in support of your Zante, who is currently receiving treatment at The Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
“We invited many motorcycle clubs and we are proud to say that the turnout was very good,” said Willie. “The support from the community at large and the local motorcycle clubs was overwhelming, and we managed to raise a good amount of money toward a very worthy cause. Even though this is just a drop in the ocean in terms of what is still needed to pay for the very expensive treatments, every bit helps, and it warms the heart to see that people out there still care.”
Local music duo Gert & Modz entertained the crowd with popular tunes, while Erika Tolmay from the Victory Eagles Motorcycle Club took it upon herself to encourage both bikers and other Deck and Dam patrons to contribute to this worthy cause.
