New teachers receive generous welcome at Welties

Weltevreden Park Primary welcomes four new teachers with open arms to their school.

Teaching is a job that is highly appreciated. It takes courage, tenacity, and a lot of patience to get teachers through just one day. They are our parents away from home who help shape our minds and hearts to be better individuals for the future.

The Weltevreden Park Primary School welcomed four new teachers with open arms to their school who hope to bring nothing but positivity and fun learning for grades 1–3. The four new teachers Bailey Greybe, Caitlin Enslin, Tarryn Farred, and Kyra Miller started their first day of work welcomed with big smiling faces and generous help from their fellow staff members.

In the hopes that their learners might learn something from them as well, Bailey and Tarryn mentioned they were eager to start their teaching careers and seek to instill a stronger feeling of positivism and a sense of belonging in their learners.

The other two new teachers already have experience in teaching so for them it’s really about seeing how the learners have developed from their previous grades and starting to teach the Grade Ones how to read and write.

They had a small meeting with the rest of the staff members, to welcome them to the school and just give them a brief message of motivation of how the staff is one big family and to reassure them that they will grow not only as teachers but also as individuals.

“I am very excited to be back and I hope to create a safe space for learners to know that they are cared for and loved beyond just learning,” said former Welties learner Tarryn.

Her former teachers gave her a warm embrace and a cheerful smile upon her return. When former learners choose to return and impart what they have learnt to the following generation, the teachers are always thrilled to see it.
