Community asked to help create a memorable day for the less fortunate

The homeless members of the community will have the opportunity to experience a basic human activity such as shopping.

Horizon Shopping Centre in collaboration with Wings of Inspiration Care Centre is hosting a Threads Up Initiative for the homeless so they can experience the basic activity of shopping.

They ask for the community’s help in creating an experience for the less fortunate members of the community that aims to reaffirm their humanity and instill hope for the future.

On January 27, these members of the community will have the opportunity to receive clothing and toiletry items to allow them the chance to rediscover the basic human activity of shopping.

They ask for any donations of clothing, especially men’s clothing sized small and medium and men’s shoes of all sizes, blankets, toiletries, clothing rails, racks, and non-perishable items to support the pop-up shop. They also invite the community to volunteer on the day as personal shoppers are needed to assist the shoppers.
