Lions International holds recruitment drive at Hillfox
The Lions International is an umbrella organisation that aims to educate people on how to serve their communities through various intervention programmes.
A global awareness campaign by the Lions International Club in a bid to educate the community about who they are and what they do, as part of their membership drive, took place at Hillfox Value Centre on November 25.
The membership drive aims to recruit 1.5 million members worldwide with the Lions being a community-orientated service organisation that serves the communities they are in to help people in need.
“Our motto is literally ‘We Serve’. We have different aspects we are passionate about like sight and vision, childhood cancer, diabetes awareness, environmental awareness, and hunger,” Crystal Richardson, president of Helderkruin Lions Club and zone chairperson of region A said.
Each region has multiple clubs in the area, with District 410e within their zone they have seven clubs like Helderkruin, Wilro Park, Krugersdorp, Clearwater Cyber, Weltevreden Park, Northcliff and Rustenburg.
“We wanted to create a day where all the clubs come together as one to ‘Lionise’ the community and show the strength of Lions International to show we are not just these individual clubs, but we are part of a much larger organisation,” Crystal ended.
