Hoërskool Roodepoort to host a Christmas party for Child Welfare

The school is asking the community's help to make the children's day special.

Child Welfare South Africa will be joining Hoërskool Roodepoort for a Christmas party and is asking the community to help with donations.

Jauné van Aardt, from the school, explained the Amore Welfare Christmas Party will take place on December 8 from 9:00 to 13:00. She noted 200 children, between the ages of five and 18, are set to attend.

She says the Amore teachers have started a Santa Shoebox project so they can give a Christmas present to each of the children. The school’s representative council of learners also had a sanitary drive to continuously support the welfare.

The items that are needed include breakfast items, party packs, water and cold drinks for 200 children, Christmas presents, school stationery and bags for the children, and sanitary pads. She noted any other donations including books, toys, shoes, clothes and bedding would be welcome. Transportation is also needed from Braamfischer, Doornkop, Thepisong and Discovery.

Any person interested in donating can contact Hélana Terblanche on 074 143 4615 or at marketing@roodie.co.za or sport@roodie.co.za or Sanay Ramsammy on 074 549 7088 or Sibusiso Khoza from Child Welfare on 073 137 5396.
