Harveston church invites community to help raise funds for its soup kitchen

Harveston-based church hosts fundraising market for their soup kitchen.

The New Harvest Christian Fellowship is appealing to the community to come out and support their boot sale fundraiser on November 25 from 9:00 to 14:00.

The fundraiser is in aid of the church’s soup kitchen which hands out at least 300 packets of assorted food items to families in need in and around the area. They held their previous boot sale at the end of August and had about 30 people who had their goods on display for attendees to buy. The church is 23 years old and has been a pillar in its community as its soup kitchen celebrates its 18th birthday.

Pat Carson is urging any small business or market vendors in the area to book a table at their boot sale, where all the proceeds they make off of the stands booked will go straight towards the Christmas food packages that they plan on handing out in December. These will include a few festive additions, making the packages a bit bigger.

Pat mentioned that any type of stand is allowed to come through, crafts, old stuff you’d like to get rid of, and anything in between.

“We are sorted for food but are still looking for a pancake stand,” she mentioned.
