Strubens Valley community hosts ghoulish Halloween Walk
A fantastic, family-friendly evening out for those in Strubens Valley took place on October 27.
Under the watchful eye of the full moon, Fredenharry, Geldenhuys, Witwatersrand and Pennyweight streets were filled with adults and children alike dressed up in their scariest, or favourite, characters’ outfits as they took part in a street walk lined with tables overflowing with candy galore!
The initiative was put together by Bianca van Platen and her team of volunteers. A whopping 600 walkers took part in the event on October 27 and they had almost 30 tables to explore.
Bianca confirmed that this was definitely going to be an annual event and she is excited to see what the turnout would be for next year. The children enjoyed the different outfits their friends wore and some found kindred spirits as they spotted someone dressed as the same character as them.
