Frontline City Church to host spring festival

Family fun day to double as fundraising campaign to improve security in the area.

Celebrate the new season with Frontline City Church this spring weekend.

The church is holding its annual Spring Day Festival on September 2. The day will feature family sports activities, a fireman roleplay, a Play-doh show, a thrift shop, and a boot sale. For the children, there will be face painting and a jumping castle while pancakes, hot dogs, curries, and homemade baked treats will keep the stomachs full. The fun starts at 11:00 and entrance is free to the public.

The day is doubling as a fundraising for community security projects.

“The idea is to combine a community outreach and awareness campaign with a family-style event. The goal of this year’s initiative is to raise funds for the Honeydew camera project which is being implemented by the Power Rangers, along with other missionary projects being run both locally and internationally,” explained Pastor Hennie Wessels.

A representative of the police, and a few of the other community watchmen from the Community Policing Forums, Power Rangers and more will be sharing safety tips at the event. The church will also be presenting certificates of appreciation to these groups for all their time and sacrifice given to keep the area safe from crimes such as cable theft and vandalism.
