Ward councillor asks the community’s help to support those in need

As a long-time supporter of various NPOs, Ward 85 councillor Zoné Hughes needs the community's support for those less fortunate.

Growing up in a household that reached out to others, Ward 85 councillor Zoné Hughes is continuing these values.

Aside from her duties as a ward councillor, Hughes also helps those less fortunate. She has been involved with Fred and Martie’s Soup Kitchen as well as Dorcas Aid. When they asked for donations to support those they help, Hughes decided to make people aware of the need in the community.

She asks for donations which she will collect and then take to the various beneficiaries. Currently, their biggest need is clothes and blankets, especially as those less fortunate don’t necessarily have something to keep themselves warm. They also ask for food, as well as cleaning supplies.

Any person wanting to donate can contact Hughes on 081 584 7559.
