Laerskool Horison boasts excellence at RAK competition

Hories learners participated in the RAK competition with 159 entries.

Talented learners from Laerskool Horison were in their element as they participated in Die Roodepoortse Afrikaanse Kunsvereniging (RAK) competition which took place in late July.

The arts festival, which takes place every two years, saw talented teams work hard to impress the panel of judges with their recitals. Each school team was tasked to choose different art forms such as poetry, choral verses, drawings, paintings, and other cultural items – anything art really, to present.

Diploma winners Leané du Plessis (Grade One), Carli-Ava Viljoen (Grade One) and Neimré Coetzer (Grade Two).

Various schools were present and Laerskool Horison, Laerskool Roodekrans, Laerskool Dr Havinga, and Laerskool Florida had the opportunity to participate.

Horison’s learners performed well in the creative arts competition. Grades R–7 had the opportunity to participate in drawing, painting, collage, modelling, design, and printing. In total, there were 159 entries, and the Horison learners boast 48 A certificates, 32 A+ certificates, and 9 A++ diplomas.
