Second to Sunrise perform at Radicals

Second to Sunrise pays tribute to rock.

On May 6, the largely cover band Second to Sunrise visited Radicals Pub and Pool Bar to pay tribute to the many wonderful rock musicians from the 1980s to now.

Ross, the vocalist and guitarist for the band, described the inspiration behind the rock performance: “When was the last time you just went out to see a bunch of rock songs, so we figured it made sense, to give people something to look forward to.”

The band consists of the drummer, Larry Rose, Natasha De Ascencao on vocals, and Ross Cooke. Although they are mostly a cover band they have written a song or two themselves. They are based in Johannesburg and they play events all over the West Rand.

About the goal for their band, Natasha stated: “To have fun, We just enjoy performing with each other and playing music we like.”

Performing music is however not all these three do, Ross and Larry also teach music, while Natasha tours the world.
