Alice hosts her first Art in the Garden for the year
The community can attend these events if they want to acquire artwork from new, emerging artists, learn more about art, or just enjoy exploring new places and activities.

Alice Art Gallery hosted its first Art in the Garden event for the year on Saturday, April 22.
The first of many, this event allows local artists to showcase their artwork and, if they are lucky, get chosen as one of the Art in the Garden winners – whose art gets to move into the Alice Art Gallery.

Artist Kim Paxton, who won one of the prizes for last year’s Art in the Garden allowed visitors to watch and learn her process of how she creates her watercolour art.

Outside artists with a variety of different styles and mediums displayed their creations for visitors to look at, discuss and purchase. Visitors also had the opportunity to get their portrait painted or sketched by local artist, Dawid van Deventer while enjoying some of the delicacies on offer at the Café.

These events cater to those in the community who are eager to learn more about art or buy new up-and-coming artists’ art, or even just enjoy going out and experiencing something new.
