On April 15, many canoers came to enjoy the flatwater canoe race at Florida Lake hosted by the Florida Lake Canoe Club.

The race consisted of a guppy race which includes canoers under 12 years and a short and long race. K1, K2, and K3 canoes were welcome to take part.

The guppy race consisted of 2.5km, while the short race consisted of 10km. The long race was 20km, with three portages. Canoers 65 years and older didn’t have to do any portages.
The winner of the guppy race was Kyle Sima Armdorf, the short race winner was Daniel van Eeden and in the long race, Clinton Cook walked away the winner.
